We all know that growing is inevitable when it comes to our bodies, but do you know our mind is the same? The difference is that when we reach adulthood, our bodies tend to stop or at least slow down. Our mind does not have to be that way. In fact, we are only happy when we continue to grow. Sitting idle brings depression and stagnation brings low self-esteem. The only way to be truly happy in life is to continue learning and growing your mind. Thats because it is innate in each of us to always be searching for more. Have you ever wanted something so bad and then you get it. But soon thereafter, you are wanting something else? Thats the way we work. We will never be content with the status quo. And when we feel like the status quo is all we will ever have do or be…….depression finds you. It does not matter what you have or do not have. It does not matter who you surround yourself with or if you are a loner. You will succumb to depression when you stop growing. Our minds are made to always be searching for more. You can feed that desire and live a life of joy, or you can ignore that desire and never be fulfilled. Unfortunately, a lot of us have beliefs that hold us back from the desire to grow. Some of us are uncomfortable with change due to a belief we hold about changes. Some of us don’t believe we are worthy of more, so we try to accept the now. Some of us are excuse hoarders, some of us are time wasters, some of us are attention seekers, some of us just don’t have the confidence. Whatever your story is, it most likely goes back to your early childhood and the beliefs that you formed many years ago. Now traditional medicine tells you to go to a head doctor and that years from now, you might see a noticeable change. I offer a much faster process. I don’t believe that going back to relive all your traumas, hurdles, and past regressions is the answer. I think that the past is the past and there is no need to relive it. I offer moving forward. Rewrite the story if you have to, but leave any of the negativity where it belongs, in the past. Even the now is the past. Its old news! When we just look to move forward, the past becomes irrelevant. When we understand our desire to grow is where our attention should go, then we can start recreating our now and shaping our tomorrow. Growing into a positive mindset is the first step I would take on the journey forward. Forget negativity, it does not serve you. HOMEWORK: At the end of each day, get a paper and write down everything that gave you joy that day. Something that made you smile or something that gave you encouragement or just something that warmed your heart. Do this every day until you have so much to write down at the end of your day that your paper can’t hold it all. By this time, you will no longer need to write down the daily positives because they will become natural for you to see everywhere. It’s a growth habit. It’s now your habit! Enjoy!!
